Chen Sen Gateway (CSGW) is a gateway device to convert serial protocols (Modbus RTU or proprietary protocols) to BACnet IP or MS/TP. CSGW natively supports Modbus RTU as default protocol, and supports proprietary protocols using Lua Scripts1. CSGW can bridge varied third-party devices which communicate via RS485 or RS232 to BACnet network, such as air conditioning units, fan coil units, elevators, power meters, boilers, UPS, water leakage detection, battery monitoring system, entrance guard alarm system, etc. 

Modbus RTU - BACnet
Modbus  RTU protocol is a serial communication protocol widely used of connecting industrial electronic devices.
CSGW can act as BACnet device and Modbus RTU master in the same time, exchanging data between Modbus RTU and BACnet networks via mappings retained in the local database.

A large number of BACnet objects give you flexibility in mapping Modbus registers to BACnet objects.
Packed Modbus registers may be parsed to multiple BACnet objects when reading. Multiple BACnet objects may be packed into a single Modbus register when writing. All standard Modbus register types are supported.
Value object will poll its assigned Modbus register at the interval you specify. The content of the Modbus register will be given as the Present Value of the BACnet object when reading. The Modbus register is written each time the BACnet Value object is written.

Input object will poll its assigned Modbus register at the interval you specify, and provide the Modbus data as the Present Value when reading.
Commandable Output object is used to write Modbus register, and will update the Modbus device each time BACnet is updated.
